may 2012

it has been nearly a year since i have run a solid marathon. thats 9 marathons in a row. during that period my weekly mileage dropped and along with pace. the past 2.5 weeks i have seen a resurgence in my running. running more consistent and faster. i just finished a 93.72 mile week and look to continue with 80+ mile weeks for remainder of the year. big focus is air force marathon on september 15 where i will try to BQ for 2013. very important as i hope to run my 5th in a row. some say my mileage is my downfall and that if i dont cutback ill never run boston again or 3.10 for that matter. that serves as motivation for me. turning 40 does not mean the end of the world. i believe stress was the leading factor and i forgot how much i enjoy training.. keep it simple, 1 run at a time and have fun. no gimmicks. 18 weeks till reckoning day. time to train hard and challenge myself that i can comeback after a dismal year and redeem myself!
